ASU-Heber Springs is comprised of both traditional and non-traditional students, primarily from Cleburne County. Since
Fall 2007, classes have been held on the beautiful new campus nestled at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. The main campus consists
of three buildings: a 29,400 square foot, three-story Student Services/Administration building, which houses Admissions, Counseling,
the Business Office, Book Store, and most importantly the Learning Center and University Cafè; next is a 43,450 square
foot, three-story Academic Center, housing 14 large classrooms, 3 high-tech computer labs and 3 modern science labs, Biology,
Physics, and Chemistry; and a 5,000 square foot physical plant building.
Classes are also held in the John L. Latimer
Skills Training Center, a 25,000 square foot facility located at 71 Cleburne Park Road in the industrial park, which boasts
one of the premiere welding labs in the state, hands-on painting and ceramics classes, and our newest program, Practical Nursing.
In addition to college classes, many short courses and seminars for workforce development and specialized training are held
in this facility.
Full-time and adjunct faculty members provide instruction to over 700 students for core curriculum
classes as well as business-oriented courses such as accounting and business statistics. The majority of students transfer
to four-year institutions after earning an associate level degrees. However, applied science degrees and certificate programs
are also offered to prepare students for immediate employment. Concurrent enrollment is also available, allowing high school
students to enroll in university courses to receive both high school and college credit. Additionally, ASU-Heber Springs offers
continuing education courses, from photography to financial investment, and personal computer courses.
